Bob Baldwin, the Shadow Minister for Tourism and Regional Development called upon the government to take the needs of the Tourism industry seriously. Citing an article in the Travel Weekly, the Shadow Minister was dismayed that relations between the government and the industry now appeared to be at an all-time low. A situation which hadn't been helped by the decision not to replace Nick Sherry who had left the government in the recent reshuffle.  The lack of importance the government attaches to Tourism was underlined by the industry now effectively being represented part-time, by the Resources and Energy Minister, for whom Tourism clearly wasn't a priority.
