RESPOND TO QLD FLOODS
Bob Baldwin, Member for Paterson said his office phone had been run off the hook with offers from local residents willing to help their Queensland neighbours following the devastating floods.
“The sheer number of local people willing to give their time and money to help flood victims has been overwhelming,” said Mr Baldwin.
“At this stage charities are calling for cash donations.
“Donations can be made through the Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal on 1800 219 028, or through the Salvation Army on 13 72 58,” said Mr Baldwin.
Mr Baldwin said that there were also a number of local residents who had volunteered to travel to Queensland in the coming weeks to help with the recovery.
“Residents who want to volunteer for the clean-up effort can call Volunteer Australia on (07) 3002 7600 or visit the website www.volunteeringaustralia.org,” said Mr Baldwin.
“The thoughts and prayers of all the people of Paterson are with those affected by this tragedy.”
