Bob Baldwin, Member for Paterson has rolled up his sleeves today in Tea Gardens to help save lives, by giving blood.

“Many people don’t realise that one in three of us will need blood at some stage in our lifetime,” said Mr Baldwin.

“Unfortunately, just one in thirty people actually gives blood.

“Winter is also a difficult time because many regular donors cannot give blood due to cold and flu. For each day in May, blood collections in New South Wales were 13% below the daily target

“So I’m here today to make a personal donation and to encourage others to phone the Blood Service on 13 14 95 and make an appointment to do the same.

“Even those who are unable to give blood can help their community by encouraging family and friends to donate,” said Mr Baldwin.

The Red Cross Blood Service Donormobile has been parked at Tea Gardens Library throughout today. There are a number of upcoming dates when the Donormobile will also be out in the local community, including:

·  Nelson Bay Diggers on Wednesday 14^th and Thursday 15^th July from 1pm-6:30pm.
