COALITION TO BOOST DIGITAL TV SIGNAL IN PATERSON

Bob Baldwin, Member for Paterson has announced that a Coalition Government will invest $150,000 to upgrade local television towers to digital.

“Residents have told me their television signal just isn’t good enough and I have listened,” said Mr Baldwin.

“After meeting with thousands of people, hosting public forums and collating the results of my television reception survey, I have identified trouble spots in need of attention.

“I sincerely thank everyone who responded on this issue to help me find a solution,” said Mr Baldwin.

The switchover from analogue to digital television transmission is due to happen in 2012.

“A Coalition Government will convert the Elizabeth Beach tower from analogue to digital as a matter of priority.

“A Coalition Government will immediately begin work to install the necessary infrastructure on the existing Vacy tower to deliver clear, digital commercial channels,” said Mr Baldwin.

Upgrades to Vacy and Elizabeth Beach television towers will be funded by a Coalition Government, which brings them in line with upgrades already planned for analogue towers at Stroud, Booral, Forster and Smiths Lake.

“Local people deserve local news, entertainment and advertising.” said Mr Baldwin.

“That is why a Coalition Government will deliver clear, uninterrupted digital television through upgrades to towers across Paterson.”
