Bob Baldwin, Member for Paterson has welcomed today’s announcement of $1.8 million funding for the Great Lakes Aquatic and Leisure Centre.
The Great Lakes Aquatic and Leisure Centre is to receive $1.8million for extensions to the existing building, as well as the installation of a lift.
“The buildingis just on 20 years old and the Council is challenged with addressing the problems associated with an ageing building” said Mr Baldwin.
“This funding will assist the Great Lakes Council in upgrading much needed facilities at the Aquatic Centre,” said Mr Baldwin.
“I have been a strong advocate for additional funding into the Centre, and I am pleased the application has been recognised.”
The Great Lakes Aquatic and Leisure Centre is used by approximately 200,000 people each year and offers affordable health and fitness options for the Great Lakes region.
The $1.8 million will beannounced at 1.30pm today at the Centre.
