AIRCRAFT NOISE PUBLIC MEETING

Bob Baldwin, Member for Paterson invites local residents affected by the Australian Noise Exposure Forecast (ANEF) 2025 to a public meeting to be held this Tuesday 9 August at 6:30pm.

The meeting will be hosted by concerned community groups SAFE EARS and Save our Castle at Muree Golf Club, Raymond Terrace.

Shadow Minister for Defence, Senator the Hon. David Johnston and Mr Baldwin will speak at the meeting.

“The Gillard Labor Government has done absolutely nothing to help local residents affected by the ANEF2025,” said Mr Baldwin.

“This is despite the Prime Minister’s promise to lift and replace the ANEF2025 by the end of 2010.

“Julia Gillard is now eight months past her own deadline and it is a disgrace that residents are still living under a cloud of uncertainty regarding their property values and lifestyle.

“It now appears the Prime Minister’s promise to lift the ANEF2025 is exactly the same type of promise as, ‘There will be no carbon tax under the Government I lead.’

“Residents have the right to feel outraged.

“They also deserve to know how the Coalition, as an alternative government, would fix this matter – and that’s what we will discuss on Tuesday,” said Mr Baldwin.
