Member for Paterson Bob Baldwin has today welcomed East Maitland residents to his federal seat of Paterson and urged them to contact him to discuss any important local issues.
The change comes after the NSW redistribution report was tabled in Parliament this week, with parts of East Maitland to formally join the seat of Paterson.
“I am excited to be able to again represent the people of East Maitland and ensure their needs are heard and fought for in Federal Parliament,” said Mr Baldwin.
“I pride myself on the fact that I listen locally and fight nationally.
“For this reason I’d like to ask residents in East Maitland to give me a call, send a letter or email so I can better understand what you’re passionate about.
“I promise I will work hard to attract investment in the region and to ensure this money is spent in all the right places.”
“I also promise to be your voice in Canberra, and to represent your needs no matter how big or small.”
Meanwhile, Mr Baldwin will be sadly farewelling Gloucester residents at the next election, who will move into the federal seat of Lyne.
“It’s been an absolute honour and privilege to represent the people of Gloucester, many who I have got to know well over the past 14 years,” said Mr Baldwin.
“Your needs now pass into the hands of Independent MP Robert Oakeshott and we will work together to ensure this happens quickly and smoothly.”
