A HELPING HAND FOR PATERSON’S VOLUNTEERS
Home > Latest Media Releases > Paterson Electorate > A HELPING HAND FOR PATERSON’S VOLUNTEERS
16 Jul 2010   Bob Baldwin
Bob Baldwin, Member for Paterson has today congratulated more than 70 volunteer groups across the Paterson electorate which have secured funding under the Volunteer Grants 2010 program.

The organisations will share in $232,000 federal funding.

“The sheer number of successful applicants is testament to the amazing work that so many people do across the Paterson electorate,” said Mr Baldwin.

The grants will provide between $1000 and $5000 to each organisation, for small equipment items, fuel costs and training courses.

“Volunteers are the backbone of our community, giving of their time, skills and resources to help others.

“These grants will help our volunteers in their daily work, as they strive to improve people’s lives and make our community an even better place to live.

“This will take the pressure off fundraising activities and will allow our community organisations to focus on what they do best – helping others.

“The money will be used for a range of items such as computers and fuel. It will also allow our volunteers to increase their skills through training courses.

“I am extremely proud to represent such a giving community.

“This is also a reminder that we have many residents who deserve a big thankyou, so I hope people are busy filling in their Paterson Citizen of the Year application forms. They are available on my website at www.bobbaldwin.com.au,” said Mr Baldwin.
